Last year, the India release of the superhero flick, The Avengers, featured a Hindi theme song, ‘Hello andheron’. It was composed by indie rock band, Agnee. Now, another upcoming film in the same genre, Thor: The Dark World, is following suit. An industry insider reveals that the film’s India distributor (Disney-UTV) was recently scouting for a popular indie band to compose a Hindi theme song for the film ahead of its release. “They have shortlisted Euphoria, Parikrama and Agnee for it,” says the source. Since ‘Hello andheron’ was a hit, Agnee would probably be a preferred choice of the distributors, adds the insider.

“Agnee would be a safe bet as it has composed a similar song before, Plus, the distributors require a number that captures the mood and essence of the superhero film,” says the source. When contacted, Disney-UTV was unavailable for any comment.

Thor: The Dark World stars  Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård. It is the second Thor film after the 2011 outing. The film hits theatres both in India and the US on November 8.
