Reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 60 crore, Arrambam, had a solo release in record number of screens worldwide on Thursday.
"We are expecting the worldwide opening weekend collection to touch Rs.20 crore. Since the response to the film all over has been very good, I think that number is not impossible. Today (Saturday) and tomorrow is going to very important as two other Tamil films are releasing," he added.
Also featuring Arya, Nayanthara, Rana Daggubati and Tapsee Pannu, Arrambam, is the story of a man on a mission to avenge the death of his best friend.
Directed by Vishnuvardhan, the film was produced by Sri Satya Sai Movies. The Telugu dubbed version of the film titled, Aata Arrambam, is slated to release November 21. The dubbing rights were reportedly sold for a whopping Rs. 6 crore, the highest for an Ajith film.
