“If there is any understanding, it is between the CPI(M) and BJP. CPI(M) has been instigating riots at a number of places in the state in collusion with the communal BJP,” Roy said.
Modi praised Mamata to the hilt and said Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati should take lessons from her on how to work for the development and demand benefits for their own state.
A rattled Mamata later said at the inauguration of a Jagadhatri Puja in Chandannagar that she would not ally with communally minded people.
But the CPI(M) seized on the opportunity and Bhattacharjee claimed at a public meeting that Modi’s endorsement of Mamata is a clear indication of the ‘secret’ understanding between the two parties and it is only a matter of time before she joins the NDA.
