Answering a question on how better military exercise could prevent repeat of incidents like the PLA incursion in Depsang in April, Zhou said that compared with greater good and common interests of the two countries, “…these things were not a major trend.”
PLA soldiers are often accused of illegally crossing the Line of Actual Control, sometimes hundreds of times in year. Similar figures of Indian incursions are never shared by Beijing.
Zhou said military relations were an important part of bilateral ties, adding that India and China were friends and partners and not rivals.
Quoting a Chinese proverb, Zhou said spoons and dishes will clank but that does not mean one should stop cooking or eating.
