Delhi: 27-yr-old alleges gang-rape by husband's uncle, brother
A 27-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh was allegedly gang-raped by four men, including her husband’s uncle and brother, on Thursday night.
The woman, who had earlier filed for divorce accusing her husband and his family of domestic violence, had been living with her boyfriend in east Delhi’s Ashok Nagar for the past two months.
In her complaint to the police on Friday morning, the woman claimed the four men who were brandishing knives forcibly entered her home when her boyfriend was away at work in Noida. She said that they tied her legs and arms with ropes and took turns to rape her. She said that before leaving her room the accused threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the crime to anybody.
The crime came to light when the woman's boyfriend returned home after work and found her tied inside the room. He untied her and then took her to the New Ashok Nagar police station where a complaint was lodged. Police have registered a case of gang-rape and wrongful confinement against the four men.
The accused are still on the run.
Police said the woman who was a resident of Nasimpur district in Madhya Pradesh had filed for divorce six months back alleging that she was tortured by her husband and his family. It was then that she fell in love with her neighbour, a 22-year-old man who worked in Noida. Two months back, they moved to Delhi, police said.
