With an objective to facilitate its students to pursue higher education in Ireland, Spring Dale Senior School has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National College of Ireland (NCI) during the visit of Jimmy Hill, vice-president of academic affairs and research at the NCI.
"The purpose of the agreement is to enable the students of Spring Dales - subject to academic eligibility which is assessed by NCI's international department - to enroll in an under graduation programme offered by the NCI. This approach will allow our students to earn a bachelor's degree in Ireland, which is of three or four years' duration depending on the programme,"said Spring Dale principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma.
Sharma added that students, who successfully earn a senior secondary qualification at Spring Dales, would be deemed as having satisfied the admission requirement of the NCI.
"Students passing out from Spring Dales with the overall score of 50% or higher and enrolling at the NCI are guaranteed admission to the undergraduate programmes at the NCI, besides waiver of English test scores, like IELTS or TOEFL, subject to having studied in English medium of instruction and having scored overall 55% in English at the senior secondary level,"he claimed.
"In order to complete their under graduation programme in a timely manner, students will be advised to follow the study guide for the academic programme they plan to pursue at NCI. If a student intends to change program upon admission to NCI, he may be required to meet all standard admission criteria of NCI,"Sharma maintained.
"Spring Daleans enrolled in the NCI programmes would be entitled to an exclusive scholarship ranging from €500 to €800, depending on programme in which they were enrolled in,"he said.
Moreover, the NCI will offer the Spring Daleans dedicated support for visa application through its office in India, including visa documentary check-list - depending on individual applicant assessment, on-line visa application assistance, submission of visa documents to the Irish embassy through Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) and coordination and communication with Irish visa office regarding status of visa application.
"The intent of the NCI Partnership Program is to enhance the learning opportunities available to the students and alumni of Spring Dale Senior School. Through this new venture, students will be able to capitalise on their rich experience at Spring Dales and will be able to earn a bachelor's degree abroad at the NCI,"Sharma said.
