Addressing an election rally in Indore on October 24, Gandhi said the ISI had attempted to woo the Muslim youth whose kin were killed during the Muzaffarnagar communal riots.
The EC pulled up Gandhi after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed a complaint. He had also accused the BJP of inciting the communal clashes this September.
Reprimanding Rahul, an EC order issued on November 13 said, “Some portions of your speeches were not in consonance with the letter and spirit of the model code of conduct that prohibits speeches or statements likely to sharpen differences between different religious communities.”
Tewari trains guns on Modi
Tewari on Saturday criticised BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying, “Modi is talking about everything, but is silent on the snooping incident (on a woman in Gujarat).”
Addressing the media in Indore ahead of the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections slated for November 25, the Union minister said crime graph in the state was on the rise.
According to Tewari, the Centre does not want to control the social media unless there is a threat to national security.
