BO report: Saif's Bullett Raja is a 'super disaster'
Before its release, the Saif Ali Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Bullett Raja failed to create any buzz. Unfortunately, the trend continued even after it hit theatres. The film’s box-office figures are far from encouraging.
Trade analysts are sure that the film will struggle to break even, let alone generate profits. “It’s a super disaster. It didn’t open well and there wasn’t any improvement during the weekend. By Monday, it totally crashed,” says trade analyst Amod Mehra.
Bullett Raja was made on a budget of
58 crore, including print and publicity costs. With a usually reliable director, like Tigmanshu Dhulia, at the helm, everyone expected the film to have done better. “There was nothing exciting in it. Tigmanshu is not a commercial name, so it was unlikely to work because of him. Even the promos and music weren’t exciting,” says Mehra, adding, “It was like taking the audience for granted, and that backfired. It’s a big setback for the makers and Saif.”
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh agrees with Mehra. He says, “Collections fell further on Monday; it’s a flop.” However, the makers are confident of breaking even considering the amount at which they have sold the satellite and music rights.
