On the call given by PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa, office-bearers of the newly-constituted body passed a resolution seeking criminal proceedings against Majithia, who has been named by druglord Jagdish Bhola as one of the three cabinet ministers involved in the drug racket running into Rs. 6,000 crore.
Bajwa said Bhola was a link between Akali ministers and the international drug mafia. He asked Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal what stopped him from ordering a CBI inquiry into the drug racket.Bajwa stated that on Tuesday, the Congress would file a petition in the Punjab and Haryana high court to seek a CBI probe into the drug racket.
He said the Congress would soon launch a mass movement against the SAD-BJP government to demand lowering of the power tariff by 33% for all type of consumers and 20% cut in tariff for the small-scale industry in the state.
