The Chandigarh police on Tuesday awarded as many as seven traffic marshals Guram Singh, S S Anand, Harpreet Singh Walia, Colonel Kulbir Singh (retired), Jaskanawar Pal Singh, AC Dhawan and Badri Nath Sharma for doing their work with dedication and making people aware of the traffic rules.


Also, city police have decided to honour as many as 60 traffic marshals out of total 90 traffic marshals as a part of the Road Safety Week celebrations.

Apart from that, the road safety workshops were also organised at Vivek High School, Sector 38, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 46, and Punjab Engineering College, Sector 12, Chandigarh.   

Traffic inspectors and traffic marshals delivered the lectures on the road safety and films were shown to the students to follow traffic rules.

The workshops for auto-rickshaw drivers and rickshaw puller were organised at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Engineering and Research (PGIMER), Sector 12, Sukhna Lake, Sector 17 and Sector 43 bus stands.

The city police also organised many eye-testing camps with the help of Eye Hospital, Sohana, in which over 170 persons had the eye check-up.
