Missing son: UK cops detain Indian-origin mother
The Indian-origin mother, whose 3-year-old son went missing from home in Edinburgh on Wednesday, was today detained by the police, who also announced the discovery of a body in Fife after one of the largest day-night searches joined by residents.
Rosdeep Kular, 33, has been detained after the body of her son, Mikaeel, was discovered earlier today in Kirkcaldy, Fife.
Police Scotland assistant chief constable, Malcolm Graham, said: “The investigation into the disappearance of Mikaeel Kular has been wide-ranging and fast moving. As a result of enquiries the body of a young child was recovered in Fife just before midnight. We strongly believe this to be the body of Mikaeel”.
Rosdeep is reported to be a beauty therapist and the daughter of Gurbux, an immigrant from India, who died aged 43 when she was in her teens, and Harjinder, 60. Rosdeep was previously said to be in a relationship with a Nigerian student, with whom she had three children.
Mikaeel and Ashika were twins born to Rosdeep and a man of Pakistani origin, reports from Scotland said.
