The department of information technology, House Allotment Committee of Chandigarh administration and National Informatics Centre, Chandigarh, had launched the web-based system last year.
The system provides information about 12,500 houses categorised in over 20 types. The committee looks after the allotment of all these houses to employees of Chandigarh administration, government of Haryana and government of Punjab as per the eligibility criteria.
The system enables users to seek information about type-wise list of houses allotted during the last 30 days and also helps them know about the existing vacant houses.
Prerna Puri, secretary, House Allotment Committee, said, "In its previous version, the web-based system had provided a unified interface to all the users for accessing information pertaining to accommodation. It also enables users to generate seniority lists and vacancy reports and now, with this major upgrade, the allottees of government houses would be able to view the account statement of house rent or license fee being deducted from their salary easily."
The information can be accessed by clicking on the link titled 'Accounts Statement of Government houses' on www.chandigarh.gov.in.
