Hundreds of tweets kept the twitterati informed about minute-by-minute proceedings of the House, apart from blaming both Congress and BJP for not letting the Jan Lokpal Bill being introduced in the house.
By evening, thousands of tweets were being posted with the overarching sentiment that Kejriwal and AAP is escaping from its responsibility by quitting. Many tweets also said that Kejriwal has betrayed the Delhiites’ support.
‘48 day drama over, has Arvind Kejriwal conveniently wriggled out of the top job?’ tweeted Gurudutt Pai. Tweeter Ashwani Tiwari said, ‘Did Delhi vote for this? What about other promises kejriwal...?’
Hash tags such ‘BhagodaKejri’ were also doing the rounds on twitter. ‘Arvind Kejriwal resigns. The first-ever CM to fled, unable to run Govt, despite support. #BhagodaKejri’, tweeted Axomiya Jiyori
Though the trends on social media were largely not complimentary, there were quite a few who supported AAP. ‘AAP and Kejri is a morality storm out to dust corruption RUST,’ tweeted Colonel Sushil Puri.
There were some who even appreciated Kejriwal for keeping his promise of stepping down if the Jan Lokpal Bill is not passed. ‘No matter what he stood by his word! And we can applaud him for that’, Shruti Bhatia tweeted.
