In a major bureaucratic shake-up ahead of the ensuing Panchayat polls, the dates of which have been announced, the Harish Rawat government reshuffled the portfolios of a large number of high ranking officials late on Monday evening.
As per an official note, additional chief secretary BP
Pande has been relieved as director, watershed project. The official will continue to head other departments including power, alternative energy and the resident commissioner, New Delhi. Principal secretary MH Khand has been relieved of the Urban development, estate department, Protocol CM etc. He will now look after small and medium industry, khadi and village industry and watershed project.
Garhwal commissioner DS Garbyal has now been shifted as secretary, urban development, housing, estate department, protocol and commissioner, housing. M C Joshi, secretary-incharge, energy, sugarcane and sugar industry etc has been given the additional responsibility of the department of school education. Similarly, CMS Bisht, secretary-incharge, reorganization, secretariat administration, human rights commission, census etc has been given the additional responsibility of the administrative wing of the state secretariat.
Ajay Pradyot, secretary-incharge, has been relieved of the responsibility of small, minor and medium industry and Khandi and village industry. He will continue to head rest of the departments like youth welfare, sports, irrigation and flood control etc.
Additional secretary Shailash Bagauli has been given the additional responsibility of the departments of industrial development, commerce and textile. He will continue to look after the rest of other departments like technical education, small, and medium industry etc.
Additional secretary Sachin Kurve has been shifted to the department of civil aviation. He has been relieved of the responsibility of the department of Information and also as director general, information.
Kurve will remain in-charge of the departments of tourism, information and additional chief executive officer, tourism development board.
