It's raining airline tickets as no-frills carriers IndiGo and SpiceJet slashed fares for the fourth time in 50 days on Tuesday.
The two low-cost carriers have announced 15%-20% discounts on tickets booked between March 12 and March 16 for travel between April 14 and June 30, 2014 on
The airlines did not divulge the exact number of tickets that would be available at a discount.
"IndiGo and SpiceJet have announced a flash sale on advance purchase fares. Other airlines may follow. That's the trend we have seen," said Sharat Dhall, president, Yatra.com.

In January, domestic carriers had cut fares twice offering discounts of 50% and 30%, respectively, and followed it up with another sale on February 24 when they slashed fares by 75%.
On all three occasions, full service carriers Jet Airways and Air India had joined the fare war a day after Spice Jet, Indigo and GoAir cut fares.

"From a travellers point of view this is probably the last chance to buy discounted air tickets for the peak summer season," said Dhall.
"There is likely to be a fairly significant number of tickets available if they have announced a five-day sale," said Subhash Goyal, chairman, STIC Travel Group, allaying fears that the number of seats on sale would minimal. "April is usually a lean season because of exams, so this is a way to shore up demand," said Goyal.
"Fares start from Rs. 1999 all inclusive on select routes and flights. Lowest fares are for bookings made 90 days prior to travel. Delhi-Chandigarh ticket available for Rs. 1,999, Hyderabad – Cochin for Rs. 2,999 and Amritsar – Mumbai for Rs. 3,999," said SpiceJet in a statement.
