"The trial began on Thursday with recording of statements of four witnesses," said advocate Gagan Aggarwal, counsel of the victim.
Those examined included one teacher and one employee of the school, where the minor girl was studying in Class 10. The school employee submitted before the court that the victim remained on and off to the school in December.
The teacher, however, provided a proof of the victim's date of birth which underlined that she was of 17 years during the period of crime. Even the shop owner, with whom she was employed for nearly 15 days, stated before the court that she remained absent regularly from the work. The court also recorded the statement of the magistrate who had recorded the victim's statement under Section 164 of the CrPC.
On December 19, the UT police had arrested and dismissed five constables Akshay, Sunil, Jagtar, Himmat Singh and Anil.
In her complaint to police, the victim had alleged Sunil and Akshay of raping her and the remaining three accused of molesting and blackmailing.
