Bangladesh, finalists in the previous Asia Cup, has talent but I strongly believe they need to nurture them and a proper system needs to be put in place. Their WT20 team is much stronger than the Asia Cup side. I won’t be surprised, if Bangladesh play to potential, if they pose a threat to the big boys.
Giant stridesIreland too have been making rapid strides. They defeated Pakistan in the 2007 World Cup and England in the 2011 edition. Ireland have got past one more Test nation, Zimbabwe, and are favourites to top their group for a place in the Super 10.
The ICC has provided a platform for the smaller nations. And most players of Ireland, Netherlands etc. have played County cricket and in other T20 championships. But the ICC needs to focus on infrastructure development in these countries.
