The second showcase of Day1, Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, saw creations by designers Anupama Dayal and Vineet Bahl. Anupama Dayal
Was inspired by Vatsyayana’s Kamasutra and had a signature use of bright hues. The designer joked in her post-show conference, “it’s almost like I have a disease when it comes to colours!” The collection saw a mix of sorbet and jewel tones and her very traditional take on bridalwear.

The show, which got a mixed response from the crowd, also saw aalta stickers on the hand of the models, and trademark, chiming trims on the drapes. Fall/winter elements in her collection were amiss as risqué cholis dominated. A creation which saw an oversized floral print was reminiscent of her previous, Ishq-e-Dilli collection.

The designer again gave a glimpse of ethnicwear for the season to come, with the use of handloom fabrics. The ivory suits stood out at the beginning of Bahl’s show for their layered look, and the ankle-length culotte-style leggings that the kurtas were paired with were interesting.

The winter-forecast for cocktail Indian wear came from the designer, with his Nehru-collar shirt blouses and full -sleeved numbers. His colour palette ranged from classic monochrome to deeper plum tones and a touch of tangerine.
