The last date for the submission of Joint Entrance Test (JET-2014) application forms has been extended up to April 4. The examination is scheduled to be held on April 20.
Earlier, the last date for submitting the forms was March 28. As many as 15,000 online forms have been submitted
in the state so far.
Surjit Lal, district coordinator for the test, said about 500 forms had been submitted in print form in the district.
The applications for the examination were invited from candidates seeking admission to three-year diploma courses in the institutions affiliated to the board in Punjab and Chandigarh. The admission will be based on the JET merit.
Lal said the number of submissions for this year was low as compared to the last year due to the ongoing final examinations.
“As the Class 10 examination started late this time, the entries are also less as compared to the last year. This is the reason the date has been extended so that students get time to submit their forms,” he added.
Students can opt for these diploma courses after completing matriculation.
The centres where the examination will be conducted are government schools in Adampur, Alawalpur, Bhogpur, Goraya, Jalandhar Cantonment, Jandiala, Kartarpur, Lohian Khas, Nakodar, Nurmahal, Phillaur and Shahkot.
Students can call helpline numbers 8437492555, 8437492666 and 9872456335 and can also talk to the district coordinator at 9781988484.
