Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) candidate for the Lok Sabha elections - Gulkirat Kaur Panag’s campaign on Sunday was joined by several local bands and singers who united under the banner, ‘Swaraj Ke Sur’, to endorse AAP’s fight for a corruption-free Chandigarh. Gul, along with MTV Roadies fame, Raghu Ram, held jan sabhas in Behlana and Shastri Market, followed by a grand volunteer and community interaction at Sector 34.

Ra ghu moved with Gul through Dhanas, Dadu Majra and Maloya, mustering support for her.

Gul held a yatra through Palsora, Sector 56, and Kajheri. Addressing residents, she said, “The BJP and Congress are different sides of the same coin, upholding the same ideals of corruption, communalism, and crony capitalism.”

Reacting sharply to BJP Lok Sabha candidate Kirron Kher’s comment that she was here only to add one more seat of Narendra Modi, Gul said, “We are the people of Chandigarh.

It is our constitutional right to have a full time committed member of Parliament, and not someone who would like to gift the seat to a prime ministerial candidate.”

The Communist Party of India (CPI) endorsed Gul’s candidature and decided to support her from the Chandigarh constituency, while the Chandigarh Confederation of Workers and Employees also conveyed their unconditional support for the AAP candidate.
