Minister Sabitri Mitra's son-in-law Tinku Sarkar and the three others arrested are accused of beating up EC officials, who were trying to record a video clip of a motorbike rally of the party on Thursday. The assaulters also broke the camera of the EC team.
Bike rallies comprising more than 10 vehicles are prohibited under the EC's guidelines. The incident took place at Manickchowk, which is under south Malda parliamentary constituency.
Three persons were arrested on Thursday in connection with the incident which took place just a week before the state goes to polls.
The attack in Malda came against the backdrop of Trinamool supremo and Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee targeting the EC in a series of campaigns after eight officials, including superintendents of police and district magistrates, were transferred by the poll panel.
They were accused of acting in favour of the Bengal's ruling party.
Earlier, EC officials were allegedly attacked by Trinamool supporters in Howrah and Habra.
