Captured through the lenses of Sanjeev Kumar, a conservator of forests, in Haldipokhar market in East Singhbhum district, it speaks about dependency of tribal livelihood on non-timber forest products.
“I am feeling proud over the achievement. My photograph has been selected among entries sent from all around the world. It is like an international reward for doing photography on forest life to me,” said Kumar.
The conservator has a passion for painting and photography on rural and nature landscape. His paintings have been exhibited in many national and international art galleries.
The Commonwealth Forestry Association in partnership with Commonwealth Woods had organized a Commonwealth Woods Photographic Competition for all the participating countries and the results were announced a couple of days back.
The photography competition was organised to show the diversity of forests throughout the Commonwealth countries and how they help livelihood of many in the rural areas.
