However, police officials are confused about further action given that one FIR has already been registered against Ramdev with Mahanagar police under IPC section 171 (g) for commenting on a candidate's personal conduct with an intent to affect the election results.
Accepting the applications of these groups, police have sought legal opinion and will move court to get further directions in the matter, said a police official.
While two FIRs cannot be lodged on the same issue, a police official said both applications had been included in the investigations going on under the FIR already lodged.
Senior superintendent of police Praveen Kumar said people were free to submit their complaints but further action would be taken as per law.
Circle officer of Hazratganj confirmed that the complaint of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Mahasabha workers had been forwarded to the Mahanagar police station.
Similarly, Nagendra Chaubey, inspector of Mahanagar police station, confirmed that a group had approached him for the same but refused to comment.
Ramdev had made the derogatory remark on Friday while interacting with the media at a guesthouse in Mahanagar here. The FIR was lodged following the election commission's directives.
