There were many reports which claimed that music composer duo Salim and Sulaiman, have walked out of filmmaker Karan Johar’s upcoming production, Ungli.

However, recently, Sulaiman Merchant who visited the HT City office, cleared the air and said that all is well between Karan and them.

"No, there is no such tiff at all between us. It was all because we did not have time, and that is why only one song got selected and thus reports have blown it out of proportion," he said.

Explaining further, he added, "Since January, we (Salim-Sulaiman) had 18 concerts, so we were keeping busy. Plus we had composed different versions of a song, which was supposed to be heard and finalised by Karan. But at that time, we were busy with concerts and commitments and were not present in the studios when they came. When we were expecting them, they did not have the time."

The musical duo got their first break with the film, Kaal, a Karan Johar production that released in 2005.

They have been associated with KJo’s other productions within the Dharma camp ever since.

Interestingly, Sulaiman feels that there are things going against Ungli.

"I think there are a whole lot of things which are going against the film. First, Sanjay Dutt was sent to jail, and then the release dates were being postponed every now and then. But whatever it is, we have contributed one song to the film."
