The Shiv Sena has finally fallen in line with its MP Anant Geete taking charge as heavy industries minister on Wednesday. "Geete will be taking charge of the post for now. But Uddhavji spoke to Modiji and he has been promised that we will be given a better portfolio," Sena MP Anil Desai told Hindustan Times earlier in the morning.

The Sena, sources say has also been promised more seats in the expansion scheduled later.

On Tuesday, the Sena minister had said that he will not assume charge until a new portfolio is allotted to him.

After refusing to attend office during the day, Geete, however, went for the cabinet meeting on Tuesday evening, signalling some rapprochement between the BJP and its biggest ally in Maharashtra.
