“Following the apex court orders, we will de-seal twin towers for three days so that realtors can ensure that nothing stays lose in under-construction towers as it may harm pedestrians or residents living inside another residential block located next to these towers. However, our officer wil be present at the time, when realtor will conduct this exercise,” said a senior Noida authority official, requesting anonymity.
Admitting a joint special petition leave (SLP) of realtor, buyers and the authority, the Supreme Court had in May beginning this year stayed Allahabad high court’s demolition order. Allahabad high court order had ordered demolition of two 40 storey under construction residential towers- Apex and Ceyane built by the Supertech Group allegedly for defying building norms. Following HC order, the authority had sealed two towers immediately.
“Since the authority promptly sealed two towers following HC order, we forgot to pull down sky-folding and fix some lose bricks on upper floor of under construction towers. After last week’s heavy dust storm that killed 8 people in Delhi, we realised that lose bricks if fall down may injury pedestrian or damage vehicles parked down these towers. Therefore, we appealed from the apex court to deseal for a brief period so that we can fix all lose ends in these towers,” said a Supertech Spokesperson, requesting anonymity.
Two towers have total 857 housing units out of which 627 flats are booked.
