The department of information, public relations and cultural affairs inaugurated an exhibition-cum-video van here on Tuesday to telecast programmes on the various welfare schemes launched by the state government. The exhibition had already been set up in Karnal, Rohtak, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mewat, Palwal, Jind, Narnaul, Jhajjar, Bhiwani and Rewari districts, said deputy commissioner Nikhil Gajraj. The exhibition would soon be set up in all district headquarters, he added.

Gajraj said the state government had initiated a number of welfare schemes such as allotment of residential plots of 100 square metre to families below the poverty line,  Priyadarshini Housing Scheme, National Horticulture Mission, crop diversification, promotion of alternative sources of non-conventional energy, setting up district-level clubs for farmers, stamp duty exemption schemes for credit cards for farmers.

He added that people should be made aware of these schemes, so that they could benefit from them.
