By Tuesday, the second day of the demolition process, the BMC had finished disconnecting the electricity supply to all illegal flats, while work on disconnecting water and gas supply was underway.
The tents that had been put up by residents to stay in, if evicted, were not occupied for even a day. The tents will be dismantled soon.

A few residents continued to stay in the compound, managing with candlelight and emergency lamps.
MA Nawab, a resident of Orchid Apartment, said he would relocate to the distant suburbs. "I am going to look for a flat in Andheri or Mira Road. This was my only investment and I can't afford to pay rent in the city anymore."
