"I am not satisfied with the meeting held today. I would like a clarification on all the points I have made in my resignation letter. The party has not made me any offer so far. I asked them to accept my resignation but they requested me to rethink,'' Rane said after the meeting.

He added, "We will meet Sonia Gandhi to discuss the issues raised by me. Chavan said he will seek her time for the same. I will take a decision post this meeting.''
Chavan, however, didn't confirm any meeting with Sonia Gandhi was on cards. He said, "Rane was keen on meeting the party president, so we will convey this to her. I will brief Maharashtra in-charge Mohan Prakash on this development.''
Rane had resigned on Monday blaming Chavan's poor leadership for the party's rout in Lok Sabha. He had also expressed his unhappiness with party high command reneging on the promise to make him the CM.
