Meanwhile, Sunita Rani added to India's growing track and field gold tally, setting a new Asian Games record in winning the women's 1,500 metres title.
It was India's fifth gold on the track and their second on Thursday after Saraswati Saha won the women's 200m.
Rani's new record time was 4 minutes 06.03 seconds with Tatiana Borisova a long way back in second place, and Yoshiko Ichikawa of Japan was third.
Another Indian girl Neelam J Singh won the gold in discus throw with a new Asian Games record of 64.55 metres.
India's K M Beenamol won the silver medal in the women's 400m of the Asian Games on Thursday in a time of 52.04 seconds.
The gold was won by Damayanthi Darsha of Sri Lanka in a new Games record of 51.13 seconds while the bronze went to Svetlana Bobritskaya of Kazakhstan who clocked 52.10 seconds.
This is Beenamol's second medal in these Games. She had won the gold in the women's 800m.
