If the proposal gets nod from the Ministry, a maximum of nine new police stations will be set up in the Southern range followed by eight in North and five in New Delhi.
In Southern range, Delhi Police has asked for three new police stations in South district and two each in South West, West and South East districts.
There can be three new police stations in North East and two in East districts in the New Delhi range.
For Northern Range, a total of eight police stations have been requested -- two each in North, North West, Outer and Central districts, sources said.
Now, there are a total of 147 stations including 133 territorial, four each for Crime and Railways, Delhi Metro, two for Economic Offences Wing and one each for Special Cell, Crime Against women Cell, Narcotics and Indira Gandhi International Airport.
