AI Cheema, registrar general of Bombay High Court, said the decision was taken on Tuesday after a full-court meeting, which included judges of the Nagpur, Aurangabad and Goa bench.
“There were initial fears that judges could be targeted when their wealth was declared. But there is nothing to hide,” said a judge who cannot be named due to reasons of protocol.
Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan had not favoured the move, but backed down after many high court judges voluntarily disclosed their assets. After this, Supreme Court judges decided to put their asset details on the court website.
