BJP Andhra Pradesh unit on Wednesday urged the state government to allot piece of land at two places in the city to install bronze statues of Komaram Bheem and Shoyab Ullah Khan who sacrificed their lives while fighting against the erstwhile Nizam ruler. In a memorandum submitted to chief minister K Rosaiah in Hyderabad on Wednesday, the BJP said Komaram Bheem and Khan had played a significant role for the freedom of Hyderabad from the clutches of NIzam and fought against Razakars.

The party's Telangana Udyama Committee wanted to install the bronze statues of both freedom fighters at Kachiguda or Tankbund and at a prominent places on the Necklace road.

A delegation led by state unit chief Badaru Dattatreya met the Chief Minister at the secretariat and submitted the memorandum.
