Mozambique has sought technological expertise from West Bengal in enhancing its rice and fish production, according to that country's High Commissioner in India Carlos Augustinho Rosario. "We have abundant water resources, but the fish production in not up to the mark. So we want technology from West Bengal to enhance fish production. Similarly, we want technology for rice production also," Rosario told newsmen after a meeting with Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee and Fisheries Minister Kiranmoy Nanda.

Describing his meeting as a follow-up excercise to the recent visit of the Mozambican President in India, Rosario said that both Bhattacharjee and Nanda agreed to his proposal for the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the technology transfer.

The MOU will be signed once the Centre gave its clearance.

Pointing out that a 20 million dollar line of credit has been opened between India and Mozambique, Rosario called upon Indian entrepreneurs to invest in his country under that scheme.
