However, BJP leader Vinay Katiyar has called for a legislation to construct a Ram temple, indicating the presence of voices that may go beyond the reconciliation argument.
"There is a clear mood of reconciliation on the basis of the judgment," said a BJP leader. "Sections of the Muslim community have expressed satisfaction over it, the RSS chief has reached out to Muslims and there have been no riots, but pseudo-secular politicians and academics fearing that the end of the dispute will also mark the end of their dukaan-daari have come out against it." The targets of this arguement are Mulayam Singh Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan and Marxist scholars.
But the party is not yet saying if it will support a mosque on a third of the land around the disputed site. When asked about the demolition of the Babri mosque, BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad, said, "It was not Babri mosque but a disputed structure. Criminal trial on the demolition is separate from the title suit."
