After former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's admission that his country had trained militants to fight in Kashmir, Government on Tuesday said it had always believed terrorism was coming to India from across the border and asserted that action will be taken in the matter. "Let me assure you the UPA government, that is the Home Minister, the Defence Minister and the Prime Minister are perfectly capable of taking this matter to whatever logical conclusion it has to be taken," Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni told reporters.

"We always believed that things were happening across the border and terrorism was coming into India. It is not that we didn't say this, now if what you are saying that the former President of Pakistan has said something I am confident that the Government will take appropriate action," she said.

Former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has admitted that Pakistan had trained underground militant groups to fight in Kashmir, the first such admission by a top leader of the country.

Musharraf's candid remarks came days after he announced his return to active politics from London where he has been living in self-imposed exile.

"They (underground militant groups to fight against India in Kashmir) were indeed formed," Musharraf told German magazine Der Spiegel in an interview.
