Authorities blamed the incessant rains this monsoon, coupled with large-scale construction because of the Commonwealth Games on the abnormal surge of dengue cases in the city.
According to the data, south Delhi continued to be the worst-affected with with 492 cases of dengue reported from the area. Civil Lines area followed a close second with 475 positive cases. Rohini and Central Zone have reported 424 and 399 cases of dengue respectively.
In its regular round-up, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi said its workers found mosquito breeding in 94,560 premises till now. The civic agency has issued legal notices to 76,255 people and prosecuted 14,729 of them, it said.Other mosquito-borne disease such chikungunya and malaria, too, saw a rise with 20 cases of chikungunya and 112 cases of malaria reported in the city.
