AICC would soon depute a team to the union territory to ascertain reasons for poor performance of the party in the April 13 assembly polls. A spokesman of the PCC told PTI on Wednesday that AICC had been in touch with the party to find out reasons for Congress's poor perfromance in the polls.

Congress could win seven out of the 17 seats it contested in alliance with DMK in the polls.

The AINRC floated by former Chief Minister Rangasamy has bagged 15 out of the 17 seats it contested while the AIADMK its ally has annexed five out of 10 seats it contested.

VMC Sivakumar, an independent, has pledged support to the Rangasamy led AINRC governemnt.
