It’s been nine days since Dalbir Kaur crossed over to Pakistan to meet her imprisoned brother Sarabjit Singh, but till now the Pakistan government is continuously dilly-dallying and not allowing the sister to meet her brother.
This has not only left the family of Sarabjit in Amritsar in
India disappointed but also Dalbir Kaur who is currently in Pakistan has moved an application against Pakistan home secretary and jail superintendent of the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore high court.
The court, which has admitted the application, has fixed the hearing for Wednesday.
Disappointed Swapandeep, elder daughter of Sarabjit Singh got this message from Dalbir Kaur telephonically.
Talking to HT Swapandeep said, "We are highly disappointed. Firstly the Pakistan Government rejected our visa and now the only person of the family who got the visa is not being allowed to meet my father."
We don't understand why Pakistan Government is doing this. My aunt (Dalbir Kaur) has told me that she has already made several requests to authorities there but they are not giving any positive response. They are saying that meeting will be arranged but its' been already nine days and date of meeting is given," added Swapandeep.
We went there in year 2008 and the whole family was allowed to meet my father the next day but this time we don't know what's going on, she added.
It may be mentioned that the family of Sarabjit Singh had sent specially cooked vegetables, home made cakes and biscuits and other eatables, which they claim have got spoiled.
Wife, Sukhpreet Kaur said, "We had sent eatables with lot of love but with Pakistan Government not giving permission till now everything must have got spoilt. Both I and my daughters are very disappointed and worried."
For the past nine days, we hope to get good news but till now nothing has happened, she added.
It may be mentioned that Dalbir Kaur went to Pakistan on June 6 to meet her brother Sarabjit Singh, who is facing death penalty and is lodged in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail.
