Though John Abraham was reluctant to talk about his break-up in public, he has finally revealed why he broke up with Bips. While Bipasha Basu didn't hesitate to talk about her relationship post break-up, John was reluctant to talk about it. The actor recently revealed in a show that his eight-year long relationship with Bipasha hit the rocks because both of them were 'headstrong people'.

John reportedly said, "After being in a relationship for eight years you want to try out everything to make it work. And when it still isn't working out, it's still not easy to break up instantly as you have some really fond memories with the person. Bipasha was a very strong person and that's what I loved about her. As a girlfriend she was a caring and nice person. She was very homely unlike the image created by people."

The actor added that the problem arose because both of them were headstrong. He also said that men might talk about women's liberation, but are actually chauvinistic. He also added that he cares about the women in his life and would not like it if they were in any problem.

Reportedly, on the show John's parents were asked who they feel would be an ideal girl for him. John's dad maintained that he should settle down with any girl he felt happy with and also said that he liked Bipasha. John's mother said that her son needed a more homely and caring girl, who understood her son. She clearly ignored Bipasha in her talks and not even once referred to her.

Post-breakup, Bipasha has been linked to Rana Daggubati and Josh Hartnett, while John had been low key. But buzz is that John too is all set to enjoy his single status and getting close to an upcoming model, Priya.
