It was a routine check that ended with the rescue of a 22-year-old woman and the arrest of four men on Sunday night. The woman told the police that the men raped her. The police had set up a check point in Najafgarh area of southwest Delhi on Sunday night when they directed a car to stop for checking. The police said there were four men and a woman in the car and she raised an alarm as soon as she saw the policemen. "There were four men and one woman in the maruti van. As soon as she saw the police, the woman raised an alarm and we detained all of them. She narrated the entire incident. She said she was abducted from a nearby bus stop where she was waiting for a bus to go to her house in west Delhi," said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity. The accused men have been identified as Subhash, Raghubir, Krishna and Iswar Singh.

The victim told police that she is a resident of Subhash Nagar in west Delhi and had gone to her friend's house in Bajrang Enclave in Najafgarh area on Sunday evening," the officer added.

Police said she was waiting for a bus at Bajrang Enclave when the four men stopped their van near her and abducted her. Police said all the four men work as drivers.

The men took the van to an isolated place and took turns to rape her. Around 1:15am, a police team spotted their van and stopped it for checking and found the woman. The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape, police said.
