The English batsmen are playing too many dot balls and thereby putting pressure on themselves. The risky shots they are playing as a result of it is leading to their downfall.
Good to see Aaron in actionIt was good to see Varun Aaron in action. He has the pace and with maturity can develop into a match-winner especially in foreign conditions. The likes of Aaron and Umesh Yadav need to be handled carefully so that the Indian bowling can emerge out of the shadow of senior pro Zaheer Khan.
The young Indian batting also looks convincing in this format. Their biggest plus is that they never look to be under pressure at any point. Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane have milked the English bowling at will and have not allowed the pressure pile on them.
The stand-out batsman has been Kohli. He is improving everyday and has the repertoire of shots at his disposal. I believe this the right time to blood him in to Test cricket against West Indies at home.
That will help him to be ready for Australia as a back-up for the big guns on that tour.
