Ryan Gosling kicked off New Year by introducing Eva Mendes to his mother on Sunday. The 37-year-old actress began dating Gosling after the two co-starred in the film The Place Beyond the Pines this past summer. Mendes met up with the mother-son duo on the weekend, after they were spotted spending some quality time together in New York, the New York Daily News reported.

A source told People magazine that they all went at an AMC movie theatre in Manhattan.

“They all hung out and went to the movies together,"

“Ryan and Eva seemed very happy,” the source added.

The couple appears to be getting serious about their relationship, as this is believed to be the first time Gosling has introduced Mendes to his family.

It’s a big move for the Canadian heartthrob, who recently boasted about being raised by his mother in a single-parent home.
