In a bid to keep the city clean and healthy, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has taken some measures. It has decided to install CCTV cameras at all dumping sites across the city to ensure a timely disposal of garbage.
Huda administrator Praveen Kumar has sought the
details of number of dumping sites in each sector, list of JCB machines and number of workers deployed from the zonal executive engineers.
“Our vision is to make the city green, clean and healthy. We will check if the garbage is picked and disposed regularly. I have also directed the officials to submit a daily progress report of videography being done at dumping sites,” said Kumar.
Besides, all executive engineers, superintending engineer, sub-divisional officials and junior engineers have also been directed to ensure that all the labourers and cleaners should report daily and work as per the fixed schedule.
Meanwhile, an open training session for the field staff of Huda was also held with an aim to give a practical shape to these directions. Kumar guided the officials and staff regarding garbage lifting, maintaining road berm, greenbelts and public parks.
“The maintenance of greenbelts and parks should be done on priority. Cleaning the parks, irrigating the plants and maintaining their fencing will be ensured. More dustbins will be put in public places to prevent littering,” said Kumar.
Besides, Kumar told the officials about the rain water harvesting system.
He also inspected a rain water harvesting structure built near Apparel House on Gold Souk Road. “The decision taken by the Huda administrator regarding videography of dumping sites will be a big relief to citizens. In my sector, not a single vehicle comes for collection of garbage,” said Sanjiv Saxena, joint secretary of Sector 45 RWA.
