A Congress MP from West Bengal has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh alleging that prominent chit funds of West Bengal are pumping crores of rupees into the party fund of Trinamool, and getting full support from the ruling party.

In his April 18 letter, the complainant, Congress MP Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury demanded CBI enquiry against these chit funds.

"The state administration is totally guided by the CM and her coterie and no action is at all visible on the part of the state government against these companies," he wrote in the letter.

"I have no comments unless I read the letter," said Mukul Roy, general secretary of Trinamool.
