Top KFA officials including CEO Sanjay Aggarwal met pilots in Delhi and assured that February salaries would be disbursed starting July 13, said sources.
Agency reports said five flights were cancelled and that pilots who did not report to work were those operating the 70-seater ATR turboprop aircraft on short-haul routes connecting regional airports. Last week, too, pilots had threatened to strike work. Salaries for January were paid after a similar threat of strike was issued by pilots.
"There are admitted delays in payment of salaries but this issue is being addressed with the seriousness and compassion that it deserves. Disbursements of salaries have commenced and will continue on a regular basis," the airline said in a statement last week.
