Parineeti Chopra was signed by Aditya Chopra for a three-films contract with Yash Raj Films and made her screen debut in a supporting role in Maneesh Sharma's Ladies VS Ricky Bahl in 2011. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting
Actress.
In 2012, she later appeared in Habib Faisal's Directional Debut Film Ishaqzaade Which was also produced by Yash Raj Films for which she received critical and commercial success.
Ladies VS Ricky Bahl featured Chopra in a supporting role alongside Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. Although the film opened to mixed reviews and was not a box office success. Chopra's performance was widely appreciated by film critics. Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama wrote: "Parineeti Chopra springs a pleasant surprise. She has wonderful screen presence and acts freely. In fact, the viewers would take to her character instantly".
Komal Nahta claimed that, "Of the three other girls, Parineeti Chopra is undoubtedly the best. She has the best role, the best lines and hers is the best performance among the three. In fact, she provides a lot of light moments in the first half and, more importantly, in the second half too".
Parineeti Chopra's second release, that saw her playing her first lead role, was the romantic drama Ishaqzaade opposite newcomer Arjun Kapoor, produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Habib Faisal of Do Dooni Chaar fame.
