Sunny Leone's Bollywood debut Jism 2 has succeeded to woo the box office despite a weak script and slow pace. It's Leone magic all the way, as the film made on a budget of Rs.
6-7 crore, has collected Rs.
21 crore nett on its opening
"Started with a bang on Thursday [previews; Raksha Bandhan holiday] and Friday, but slipped considerably on Saturday itself. Though most films witness a decline in business on Saturday, the fall in this case was alarming. The film, however, was better on Sunday, but lower than Friday, which, again, comes as a surprise, since most films fare the best on Sundays," trade expert Taran Adarsh wrote for Bollywood Hungama.

"Yet, thanks to the total accumulated on Thursday + Friday, the overall figure looks quite good. Collected approx Rs.
20 cr to Rs.
21 cr nett in its opening weekend, inclusive of Thursday previews," added Adarsh.
"Even though the euphoria settled down after Friday shows were concluded, the film had already made huge moolah with as astonishing 7.5 crores coming on the opening day. Add to that one crore which had come the previous day from paid previews and the film was already sitting pretty on 8.5 crores," writes Joginder Tuteja for Koimoi.com.
"Commercially though, the job has been done for the film. When it was expected that the film would at best collect 12 crores over the weekend, that number was reached by close of Saturday itself. The film is now sitting pretty on a 20 crore base after a good Sunday, which is simply huge for a product that has been made on a very low cost. This also goes on to show that right costing, brand quotient as well as smart marketing with some element of curiosity attached to a product can aid a film arriving into a safety zone sooner than later," adds Tuteja.
HT's review of Jism 2
I thought that Jism 2, which is a sequel only because it also has sex, might push the envelope again. After all, it has a real-life porn star Sunny Leone, playing a porn star Izna. But please push aside all thoughts of Steven Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience, which has a real-life porn star playing a high-class hooker. Here, Izna's career choice has no connection with the story, which is, hands down, one of the silliest in recent history. Izna is hired by a secret agency to seduce a killer, who was also her ex-lover, Kabir, played by Randeep Hooda. Her payment to be a honey trap is Rs. 10 crore, and she informs her employers that she travels "only first class". But somewhere along the way, her agency contact, Ayaan, played by Arunoday Singh, also falls in love with her. So in some scenes Ayaan tells Izna in an urgent voice, "Let's meet and strategise." (I laughed out loud). In others, he watches her as she sleeps, running a torchlight over her body. READ MORE

JISM 2 CONTROVERSIES
Jism 2's sensual poster inspired!
It has emerged that Jism 2 poster got inspired from a Felix Bendish's visual for a fashion show in 2010.
Designer Felix told missmalini.com, “I did this shoot with photographer Kenny Zaveri from Mumbai in 2008, which I only used two years later (as a promo poster) for my fashion show in Goa in December 2010. The collection was entitled ‘skin’. Kenny came up with this concept and then we proceeded with our stlying and shows in 2010. Because my collection, was a based on racisim and female foeticide, we thought this image was perfect for the concept. Thankfully its on record with the goa press.” (sic)
No Sunny Leone in Jism 2 first poster
Yes, you read it right. The mystery girl in the first poster of Jism 2 is not Sunny Leone. In fact it's the Dan Dan girl Nathalia Kaur, who has graced the poster.
Pooja Bhatt told a daily, "A year ago, when it was being speculated that the film will feature either Bipasha Basu or Mallika Sherawat, I decided to whet people's appetite with a sexy poster. I called my friend, photographer Joy Datta, who deals with dusky Brazilian models, for options. I chose Nathalia from amongst the ones he showed me."
Now we know why Ram Gopal Varma said that Nathalia is Pooja's discovery!
Protest against Sunny Leone
Activists of Bhagwan Valmiki Shakti Sena shouted slogans against the film Jism 2, as they burnt effigies of actress Sunny Leone and director Pooja Bhatt during a demonstration in Amritsar.
The demonstrators reportedly protested against vulgarity shown in the Bollywood film.
PIL against Sunny Leone
A PIL has been slammed against Sunny Leone in the Allahabad High Court. The PIL was filed by Rakesh Nayayik, a resident of Varanasi. It seeks a stay on the release of the film, and has challenged the provisions of the law which define the powers of the Censor Board in India.
It objects to the presence of the Canadian adult film actress Sunny Leone in the film. Advocate SMA Kazmi, the legal counsel who is handling the case, said, “We have sought a stay order on the release of Jism 2 because of the sexually explicit content of the movie, and the inclusion of Sunny Leone in the film, for the adverse moral impact that her presence would have on society.”
Jism 2 song copied
Pooja Bhatt's film Jism 2 has been in the news for all the wrong reasons -- one of them being the tittle track Yeh Jism, which is said to be copy of a Turkish song. Debutant music composer Arko Pravo Mukherjee denies that and says these are just rumours.
"I don't care about these rumours. There is some similarity in the beginning of three more songs but these things happen. It was not a conscious decision to copy. This song is totally different," Mukherjee told IANS.
