Robert Pattinson managed to avoid talking about his personal life since Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal on a US show, by joking about his homeless state, saying he is “living in a trash can.” He was out and about in Hollywood for a chat with Jimmy Kimmel and looked cooler than ever in his casual blazer, jeans and sunglasses combination.

He was asked whether he is homeless by the host - after pictures emerged of him moving out of his posh LA mansion.

“I still am. No, I rented this archway and I just live behind it. In one of those trash cans,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

“I buy everything off Craigslist, my friends, that’s what I was initially looking on it for,” he said.

Despite Stewart being in hiding since her affair with married film director Rupert Sanders, Pattinson has vowed to walk down the red carpet with her for Twilight premiere.

The actor has put her well-being before his own feelings when he made his decision to accompany her in front of the cameras in November.

“He’s told movie bosses he’ll walk the red carpet to save her from embarrassment and any female fans booing her,” a source said.

“He is being professional and taking the higher moral ground,” the source added.

Pattinson has already made a number of high profile interviews and red carpet appearances to promote his new film Cosmopolis.
