Clean up or face protest, traders to tell contractors
Traders in the Connaught Place’s Middle Circle are on the warpath. With several deadlines missed, they insist that the restoration work be done in a phased manner, with results for all to see. They have threatened protest demonstrations. Parking space has shrunk as pavements have come up on both sides of the road, making it difficult for shoppers to drive around. Traders, Engineers India Limited, the restoration consultant, and NDMC officials are meeting Wednesday. “If our demands are not met, we’ll carry out a protest,” said a member of the a traders’ body.
